Part of the annual Hungarian Innovation Week, the CONNEXIONS – CEE Deeptech Summit is a high-level, one-day event designed to catalyse innovation-driven collaboration across the broader Central and Eastern European region. Hosted in Budapest, the summit serves as a unique convergence point for leaders from industry, government, finance and academia, all committed to advancing deeptech innovation in CEE.
The event aims to strengthen cross-sector collaboration between the ecosystem participants to position the broader CEE region as a hub for deeptech innovation and global competitiveness.
The summit focuses on four strategic areas where technological breakthroughs are rapidly reshaping the future: – medical technology
– mobility
– space, defense &cybersecurity
– emerging technologies — particularly those emerging from university R&D and tech transfer activities.
With a curated program of keynotes, panel discussions, networking sessions, and startup showcases, CONNEXIONS fosters critical dialogue between research institutions, high-tech industries, investors, and policymakers.
By bridging sectors and borders, CONNEXIONS aims to strengthen the visibility of Central and Eastern Europe as a rising hub of deeptech excellence — accelerating the path from discovery to impact and positioning the region as a critical contributor to Europe’s technological sovereignty and global innovation leadership.
The CONNEXIONS – CEE Deeptech Summit is the key event of the Hungarian Innovation Week, organized by NIÜ, the Hungarian Innovation Agency. Taking place between September 10–19 2025, this series of events will bring together innovation focused events organized in Hungary. By aligning these programs under a shared framework, the initiative aims to strengthen and raise the international visibility of Hungary’s innovation ecosystem.
